BRAUN BÜFFEL X SCHWEINEBERG: Traditionelles Handwerk trifft künstlerische Einzigartigkeit
Next year, painting and manufactured art will meet: For spring/summer 2022, BRAUN BÜFFEL is creating a limited special collection in close collaboration with the young Mainz artist Daniel Schweineberg. To kick off the collaboration, the fall/winter 2021 collection was photographically staged in his studio.
Christiane Brunk, CEO of Braun Büffel, usually draws inspiration from her travels. "I love getting to know new people, experiencing and observing their cultures. I like traveling to foreign cities and looking at the architecture and lifestyle."
We have had to do without impressions from the big, wide world for the most part over the last two years. But creativity also arises when we look at our roots, at what is close and essential. This is how we see how much creativity lies right on our doorstep: "You discover new places on hikes or bike tours. Nature and art offer many impressions," says Brunk.
Traditional craftsmanship meets artistic uniqueness
Through the collaboration between BRAUN BÜFFEL and the artist Daniel Schweineberg, the collections of the traditional company are receiving new, creative impulses. The input of the young creative artist creates a harmonious symbiosis of high-quality leather products, which are always unique, and artistic uniqueness, which is just as timeless as the timeless design and high-quality workmanship of BRAUN BÜFFEL products.
The productive collaboration finds its first expression in the photo shoot of the BRAUN BÜFFEL autumn-winter collections 2021, which were photographed in the creative ambience of the Schweineberg studio. For spring/summer 2022, a very special, limited collection will be created in close collaboration with the artist, which will also be shown at KaDeWe in Berlin.
REDUCTION AND DECELERATION
"The grass doesn't grow any faster if you pull on it," says Christiane Brunk, focusing on the essentials in the coming seasons: "It's important to me to move away from the 'bigger, faster, further' approach. I want to focus on our loyal customer base and reduce our existing collections in order to expand and improve them more deeply and sustainably."
REINTERPRETATION OF TRADITION
The artist Daniel Schweineberg is helping with this in 2021/22. In 2018, he first attracted attention with an exhibition in the Mainz gallery bar "Gutleut". Since 2019, his works have been popular at home and abroad - from Munich to Switzerland to Japan.
Music is Daniel Schweineberg's greatest source of inspiration. "I love listening to music for hours. I've always done that since I was a child, when I secretly listened to my brother's music cassettes. I'm also inspired by nature, flowers and fashion."
It is not just the love of art, nature and fashion and the regional proximity between the company headquarters in Kirn and Schweineberg's hometown of Mainz that connect the artist and BRAUN BÜFFEL CEO Christiane Brunk. The two also share a passion for their work, an indomitable willpower and perseverance. "Early on in my life, I experienced situations after which I always had to pull myself together and gather new courage," explains Schweineberg. "Experiencing what willpower can achieve made me formulate the sentence 'Everything is possible!' for myself. It drives me to create something."
Strategy & Creativity
Christiane Brunk knows what challenges lie behind entrepreneurial success: "Be brave and believe in your ideas, digest setbacks, get back up again and work consistently towards success!" is her advice to young entrepreneurs. Above all, she loves the diversity of her professional challenges. "What I enjoy most is developing strategies for the future direction of the company." She is grateful and proud to have recognized the signs of the times and to have expanded BRAUN BÜFFEL's e-commerce division in time shortly before the corona crisis.
energy and passion
Schweineberg and Brunk agree that it is above all the effect on the viewer that makes art what it is. "I have a very simple approach," explains Brunk, "I have to like art and the colors have to appeal to me."
"There is energy and passion in every work," says the artist Schweineberg, "The quality is always in the eye of the beholder. I love it when a work attracts me and the play with colors."
New creative ways
Creativity through new perspectives: By working with young artists, BRAUN BÜFFEL is breaking new creative ground. The focus is on the creative process, looking inwards at our values and traditions and looking forward to what is special, valuable and timeless.
