The history of the leather manufacturer goes hand in hand with the classic saddlery craft and this is where the roots of Braun Büffel lie. The lovingly crafted leather goods are now synonymous worldwide with the highest precision work and quality. The leather manufacturer, which opened in 1887, still trains fine leather workers, quilters and other specialists in leather processing. Maintaining leather goods production in Germany is the core of Braun Büffel's corporate philosophy and a personal concern of the fourth generation family owner.
Experience craftsmanship up close
The charm of the manufacturing process in Kirn and Offenbach is noticeable as soon as you enter the premises - the scent of leather is in the air. Watching the skilled workers at work is impressive. Consumers today often forget how much time and sensitivity goes into hand-crafted production.
The work steps are varied: from selecting the raw leather goods, to choosing the seams, to punching, quilting and embossing. The surprising reactions of our visitors have prompted us to open the factory doors to you.
We would like to share with you the knowledge about craftsmanship and the experience of being able to make a leather product yourself once in your life.

DIY Workshop - The leather experience with our fine leather craftsmen
Show us your creativity at the DIY workshop! The craftsmanship of the fine leather maker has been an impressive technique for decades. The feeling of producing a self-created masterpiece fills you with pride and also makes you think about consumption in the fashion industry.
And this is exactly what you can now experience! In the do-it-yourself workshops you can become a fashion designer, fine leather maker and IT-piece wearer.
How does a workshop work?
The workshops are always held in small groups of up to 8 people. You sit at a table together with one of our fine leather craftsmen. At the beginning you will receive a short introduction to the material leather and the basic production steps. You can then choose which leather accessory you would like to make. The selection usually includes a glasses case, a card case, different sizes of cell phone cases and key chains. This is how it works step by step with your personal leather favorite:
- Choose from a wide range of different leathers
- For each accessory there is a template that you need to punch the holes
- Now use a hammer and a hole punch to punch out all the holes in the template.
- Then choose a wax seam in your desired color.
- The needle is now used to make the quilting seam
- Depending on the accessory, a snap fastener or key ring is attached
- Finally, personalization in the form of silver, gold or blind embossing is applied as desired
- And your very own leather accessory is ready!
How can I participate in a workshop?
The workshops are offered at various locations throughout the year. You can register for them by email.
Participation in some workshops is free and includes the production of a leather accessory! However, other products can be made for an additional charge. A participation fee is charged for some workshops.
