That's why we at BRAUN BÜFFEL work specifically with leather suppliers certified according to the standards of the Leather Working Group (LWG). The LWG is an internationally recognized organization that promotes ecological and social standards in leather production, particularly in the areas of water and energy consumption, waste management, and the use of chemicals.
We currently use a significant proportion of LWG-certified leather and are committed to continuously increasing this proportion. Because every piece of certified leather brings us closer to our goal: a resource-efficient, transparent, and responsible supply chain—from the tannery to the finished product.
By supporting the Leather Working Group, BRAUN BÜFFEL is actively contributing to making the leather industry more sustainable.
Digital transparency with osapiens
As part of our commitment to responsible supply chains, we rely on the osapiens HUB , a digital platform for meeting regulatory requirements along the entire value chain. By connecting to the EU Deforestation Regulation (EUDR), the osapiens HUB enables us to trace the origin of our materials even more precisely and actively avoid risks such as deforestation.

With the BRAUN BÜFFEL leather factories in Kirn an der Nahe and Offenbach am Main, we offer two locations where craftsmanship is the top priority. The series, which are made by hand by the trained BRAUN BÜFFEL fine leather craftsmen, are subject to the highest standards and pass through many hands and eyes - in order to be able to offer you a perfect and unique product.
Our Contribution to the Energy Transition
Into the Future with Solar Energy
Our commitment to climate protection and the energy transition is of great importance. As a company, it is our responsibility to take measures to reduce CO2 emissions and switch to renewable energies.
For this reason, we have decided to use solar energy in our BRAUN BÜFFEL leather factory at our headquarters in Kirn. The photovoltaic system that we have been using in our factory since 2013 is an important part of our sustainability strategy.
By using solar energy, we already cover an impressive 80% of the energy consumption of our factory and our offices. It is particularly important to us that we can not only make our operations more environmentally friendly, but also save costs.
Using solar energy is one of the most sustainable and environmentally friendly methods of generating energy. Unlike fossil fuels, which produce harmful emissions, solar energy is emission-free. This means that by choosing to switch to solar energy, we are actively contributing to reducing greenhouse gases and thus making a valuable contribution to combating climate change.
In addition to being environmentally friendly, solar energy also offers other advantages: it is noiseless and odorless and therefore does not cause any disturbances in the environment. The sun as an energy source is unlimited and its use does not produce any waste products or residues.
