Lifetime Repair Service
A leather product from BRAUN BÜFFEL tells stories – and sometimes everyday life leaves its mark.
If your product requires a repair, our fine leather specialists in Kirn will examine your specific request. Zippers, seams, or snap fasteners can often be repaired. Simple defects are usually repaired free of charge. For more extensive damage outside of the legal warranty, we will inform you in advance if a contribution to the costs is required. Processing takes about four to six weeks, depending on the volume. We also examine repair requests for leather products that have been with you for a long time – as long as a repair is practical and possible. Collaboration with DHL
Shipping with GoGreen PLUS
We use GoGreen Plus for our shipments with Deutsche Post and DHL. As part of this service, additional measures are implemented to reduce greenhouse gas emissions within the German logistics network of Deutsche Post and DHL.
These include, for example, the use of electric vehicles and alternative fuels. The transport-related CO₂e emissions of the participating shipments are taken into account proportionally and – depending on the measures used – are reduced by around 95% within the DHL logistics network.₁
The achieved emission reductions are attributed to the participating shipments according to the so-called book-and-claim method. This means that the reduction measures take place within the DHL network, but are not necessarily applied to the specific transport of the individual BRAUN BÜFFEL shipment.
The calculation and allocation of the CO₂e reductions as well as the underlying processes are externally verified. For this purpose, BRAUN BÜFFEL receives an annual certificate from DHL regarding the emission reductions allocated under GoGreen Plus.

Reusable instead of single-use: our ravioli shipping packaging
When shipping our products, we also want to keep packaging materials in circulation for as long as possible. That is why we offer reusable shipping packaging from Ravioli as an alternative to the traditional cardboard box for eligible orders in our online shop.
The Ravioli packaging is made of recycled polypropylene and is designed for multiple uses. After receiving your order, the packaging can be folded and returned to Ravioli via DHL. There, it is refurbished, cleaned, and then used again for shipping.
According to Ravioli, the recycled content of the polypropylene used is 60–70%.₂ Damaged and discarded packaging is, where possible, returned to the manufacturer, shredded, and the resulting granulate is used for the production of new products.₃

A long-term collaboration with our production partners is an important component of responsible procurement for BRAUN BÜFFEL. In doing so, we do not rely solely on our own requirements. Independent certifications and established audit procedures help us to verifiably monitor social and environmental standards at our production partners.

Ein Teil unserer Produktionspartner verfügt über unabhängige Zertifizierungen oder wird nach etablierten Sozialstandards und Auditverfahren überprüft. Dazu gehört unter anderem SA8000. Der international anerkannte Standard stellt konkrete Anforderungen an die Arbeitsbedingungen in Produktionsstätten – beispielsweise in den Bereichen Gesundheit und Sicherheit, Arbeitszeiten und Vergütung, Schutz vor Diskriminierung sowie Vereinigungsfreiheit.₄ Weitere Produktionspartner werden im Rahmen von amfori BSCI₅ oder SMETA₆ überprüft. Mehrere unserer Produktionspartner verfügen über ein nach ISO 14001 zertifiziertes Umweltmanagementsystem. Der internationale Standard definiert Anforderungen an die systematische Erfassung, Steuerung und kontinuierliche Verbesserung der Umweltleistung eines Unternehmens. Für uns bedeutet Transparenz dabei auch, klar zu unterscheiden: Zertifizierungen und Audits beziehen sich jeweils auf definierte Produktionsstätten, Prozesse oder Materialien. Sie stellen keine pauschale Nachhaltigkeitsbewertung eines BRAUN BÜFFEL Produktes dar.

Leather Working Group
The Leather Working Group (LWG) is an international multi-stakeholder organization for the leather industry. It develops audit standards for various stakeholders in the leather supply chain worldwide. The LWG Leather Manufacturer Standard assesses tanneries in areas including environmental management, energy and water consumption, chemical management, wastewater and waste management, and traceability. The certification applies to the audited tannery and is generally valid for these facilities for two years.
At BRAUN BÜFFEL, we work specifically with leather suppliers who are certified according to the standards of the Leather Working Group (LWG). The certification applies to the respective tannery. It is not a statement about every individual BRAUN BÜFFEL product or the complete supply chain.

As one of the few companies in the German leather goods industry, we still manufacture a small selection of our collections in Germany. In our workshops in Kirn and Offenbach, our experienced fine leather craftspeople create leather goods that meet the highest quality standards.
We continue to provide training for the profession of fine leather craftsperson and are proud to keep German craftsmanship alive.

Stepping into the future with solar energy
Since 2013, a photovoltaic system has been installed on the roof of our company headquarters in Kirn. By using solar energy, we already cover a remarkable 80% of the energy consumption of our manufacturing facility and our offices. In doing so, we not only save costs, but also make a contribution to the energy transition.
Waste Reduction
What happens to our leather scraps?
Instead of simply discarding them, leather scraps are creatively repurposed, finding new uses as unique keychains, decorative elements, or stylish bracelets as trade fair giveaways. By doing so, we not only minimize waste but also create new products that can be used further.
DURABILITY - AS A GOAL
A BRAUN BÜFFEL product is often a long-term companion. We frequently receive messages from customers who have been using their wallet, bag, or other accessory for many years – some even tell us about pieces that have been with them for decades.
We are particularly delighted by such personal stories. They show the place a leather good can occupy in everyday life: on the way to work, while traveling, and in the many small moments in between. Over time, it develops its own unique character.
